I just wanted to pop in and tell ya'll that if you're in the Houston area and going to Quilt Festival this weekend, I am teaching Cathedral Windows in an Open Studios Saturday Nov. 3rd from Noon to 2pm. I believe the Open Studios area is by the food section. Please stop by and see me and learn the fun technique of Cathedral Windows!!! It's free, and Craftsy is sponsoring it!!

New MBS!
Just thought I'd share these lovely fabrics that came in the mail last week from Moda! These will magically turn into my next Moda Bake Shop project (hopefully soon!) Of course they are like the most girly fabrics ever and all I can think about is having a little boy!! Ya'll should definitely buy some of this fabric line, it's so pretty and did you see that houndstooth?? LOVE!
And I don't know about you, but don't you like sleeping in scrap bins? LOL!!! I'm sewing and look to my right and see this pretty girl laying in the yellow scrap bin! Izzy decided that it was too full so she pushed some out and then layed in it! Looks comfortable right? HA! What would I do without these crazy cats?!?!

Playing with scraps
Today I decided to play around with some scraps and I whipped up this little baby!! It's going to be a wall hanging for my sewing room! I got the top done today and still need to quilt it...but I thought it turned out pretty cute and I wanted to share it with ya'll!
This was before any applique

And after I appliqued a cat on it!!
Close up of the cat...oh yes I used some of my favorite Tula Pink Flutterby fabric!!

Name Tag
Saturday is our second St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild Meeting....if you live in the area you should come it's so much fun! Anywho...we decided at our first meeting that we should all make our own name tags and whoever did would have chances to win door prizes!! I love door prizes :) I can't wait to see everyone's name tags!! I totally forgot until last night and this is what I came up with. It combines my love for turquoise, hexagons and Tula Pink!

While I was trying to take photos of my new name tag, my sweet little Gibby decided that he loved it and needed to rub his face all over it! Here are a few photos of the cute little face rubber :)

Cuteness
So my husband left early this morning and will be gone all week for work in Kentucky! I sense A LOT of sewing in my future (hopefully)! I finished one quilt top today that I can't show yet because it will be a MBS project! What I can tell you that the name of the quilt is "Awesome" and I'm in LOVE with it! Ok, enough teasing. During the middle of my all day sewing extravaganza, my sweet little Izzy decided that she needed attention! She jumped on my lap and yelled at me...here is a cute photo :) I love sewing and kitties; they are my favorite :)

New Camera Lens
My new camera lens FINALLY arrived in the mail today and I immediately had to play with it (even though I should be finishing the quilting on the two baby quilts I'm working on)!
Anywho...I of course took photos of my three babies Ozzie, Izzy and Gibby. Then I went to the park where there are tons of flowers and butterflies everywhere! I'm only posting a few because I don't have time to edit them all due to the previously mentioned baby quilts :) Here are my babies:
Then this last photo is inspired my my sister-in-law who is a photographer in St. Louis. She does way better photos than this, but this is my version!

Izzy....my little girl who ALWAYS helps me sew and quilt!
Gibby my youngest little silly kitty who rubs his head on everything!
Oh cats and quilts....two of my favorite things!!

hexagon progress
My hexagons are coming along great. I've made over 700 of the individual 1" hexagons so far and started to sew some of the flowers together for my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt! I know I've said it before, but I just LOVE making hexagons!
Let me know what ya think!

Cutie and new Fabric
First I must start with a cute photo of my little Izzy....she was asleep on the recliner and Jon, my wonderful husband, covered her up! SOOOOOO CUTE!!
Second, I went to an antique store in Caledonia, Missouri and they had vintage fabric! Can you believe it? AND they sold it for $2.50/yard! I was soooo giddy....I'm sure the ladies got a kick out of me! Here are some photos of the awesome fabric!
flowers
These are all hearts but it's a little hard to tell...click on the photo to enlarge it so you can see the hearts!
look at the cat fabric....you know me and my cats:)

My Boys
As promised here are pictures of my boys since Izzy has been hogging the spotlight lately. Ozzie has been helping me sew, he pretty much always sits right next to my machine while I sew.
Then of course Gibby has to get in the action...nosey critter!

Two things before bed....
Things I love....
1. Pedicures...I got a pedicure today! WOO HOO....it's been a long time! I was thinking when the last time I had one was earlier today and thought it was my wedding almost three years ago (3 years in July)!! But then I remembered that I went with my sister-in-laws Rachel, Katie, and niece Rylee for Aaron and Katie's wedding in June 2008....soo instead of three years ago it was only two (which isn't as bad, but still WAY TO LONG to go without a pedicure!)
You know how us girls are with pink! Izzy loves pink and looks really cute on this quilt!
2. I love sitting on the couch with my husband after a long day and having our kitties lay with us! Izzy was needing attention again today. Maybe my next post will need include my two boys Ozzie and Gibby :)
