Amy Butler Weekender Bag & a Coupon!!

My friend Angela Walters debuted her first fabric line called Textures with Art Gallery Fabrics back at Fall Market 2012. About a month ago she asked if I could make her a bag with her fabrics so she could carry it around at Spring Market. I said sure and she sent me some of her fabrics.
Before I show you the bag, let me just say that I love this fabric line! The fabrics were so much fun to work with and they are so pretty! You can check back to my post about an entire quilt I made using them HERE.
Ok, now for the bag! I made Amy Butler's Weekender Bag and I'm totally in love with it! It was really hard for me to send it to her, I wanted to keep it so bad!  I might just have to make myself another one using her fabrics!

I added some teal topstitching to add a little extra! Hope you enjoy your bag Angela!

Also, the nice people at Fairfield wanted to share this coupon with everyone who stopped by the Mirror Ball Blog Hop! I just received it last night and wanted to share it with ya'll!

Mom and I had a great first day at Market, lots of good things happening in SunFlower Land (I'll let ya'll know soon)!!  Anywho, here are some photos from our first day and I plan on taking lots more tomorrow!
Angela Walters, myself and the quilt top I made for her booth! It's one of her patterns from her new book, In Studio With Angela Walters!!  I was able to put it together during one naptime and it is Jelly Roll friendly!!

I picked up her new Embroidery book today!! Embroidery is becoming super popular again and I'm loving it!!

The Butlers and myself, Amy & David!! Love these two and their awesome fabrics! I just love that her hubby is now designing fabrics!!

Joel Dewberry and I, he is super nice and I'm totally loving his new Notting Hill fabric line!
The fabulous Ms. Tula Pink!!

My mom and Tula's mom!!! Tula's mom started Ihearttulapink.com where she sells nothing but Tula Pink fabrics and out of print goodies!! So if ya'll would go to her website please and purchase all of the fabrics and send them to me, that would be AMAZING!! :) just kidding.....but seriously that would ROCK! :)

Quilt Market

This is a little late....but better late than never!!  Here are some photos from Houston Quilt Market!  I'm going to do two posts so there won't be like 30 photos all on one post!

First off here are some photos from Amy Butler's Booth!

Amy Butler and my pregnant self!  All that walking around all day made me feel SUPER pregnant!

Lark fabrics

Those pillows are awesome (Honey Bun Poufs) and gorgeous bags!

Her new line Lark, to me, has a very beachy vibe to it!

Next up, Anna Maria Horner's Booth!

Anna Maria and I!  Her due date with her first child is my exact due date, how crazy is that?!

Pretty embroidery

This quilt was awesome, it's hard to tell in the photo but all of the yellow are different folds (this photo is for you Jess!)

Her AWESOME couch....I want this at my house please!

I can't remember what booth this elephant was in, but he sure is cute!

Some fun pincushions!!

On to post two.....with pretty quilts!

Stash & Dash Bag Class

I taught the Amy Butler Stash & Dash Bags twice and had a blast both times!!

The first class was with Stacey and my dad wasn't there to take any action shot but we did get a finished project shot!! We used the New Sewing Lounge at the shop!  Ya'll definitely need to check out the Sewing Lounge if you haven't already!

She also finished up this adorable little dress for her daughter from a previous class!  I heard she saw the Easter Bunny in this dress...how perfect is that??

Houston Fun!

Over the next week I will be posting LOTS of photos from all the classes I taught while I was in Houston for two weeks!  I had such a blast sewing with ya'll and can't wait to come back!!!  We always used the NEW Sewing Lounge at SunFlower Quilts and it made sewing/classes so much fun and easy with all the space and big tables we were able to use!

First up, my good friend and amazing quilter Mari and I made Amy Butler Gumdrop Pillows and they were so much fun!  Be sure to check out her blog...she's got a lot of good stuff going on over there!!  Mari made a Mickey Mouse pillow for her adorable son Daniel and I made a baseball one because my hubby and I LOVE baseball!

The first photo is what I used to stuff the Gumdrop Pillows that I made....I got a lot of questions about what I used so I made sure to get a photo! I bought the biggest bag I could find and ended up using one for the small pillow and two for the large pillow...hope that helps ya'll if you're making one!

Gotta love an action shot...thanks Dad ;)

LOTS of stuffing!

Mari and my Mom

Finished woo hoo!  These pillows are so much fun and a quick project!!

Close up of the baseball topstitching I did!

Ozzie says the Gumdrop Pillow is a winner!! I love that little (well not that little) face!!

Check back tomorrow for more Houston Classes photos!
