Grandpa Ruben

Jon's Grandpa Ruben was called home tonight around 11 pm to be with his Savior!  Please keep the Mueller family in your prayers!  I feel so blessed to have know Grandpa Ruben; he was an AMAZING man!  He died very peacefully and we are so thanksful for that!  He lived 91 wonderful years and was a true testament of Christ's love! We love you!

Another Hexagon Pouch

What?!?!? Did you think I'd only make one?  These bad boys are addicting!
My hubby plays in a men's baseball league and they had a game tonight (which they won WOO HOO!) and as soon as I got home from his game (which I'm the book keeper) I HAD to make another one of these bags! I already used my first bag today; it held all my hexagon supplies during the game so I would have hexagons to make another one or more!!  This blue one is headed down to Houston for my mom so she can have it in the shop!  Hope ya like it mama!  Here are some photos of the new bags and bags together...it was late so I couldn't take any photos outside!

Sneak Peak

As you know from reading my blog that I am addicted to sewing hexagons with the English Paper Piecing method!  My mom is teaching an English Paper Piecing class at the end of the month and she asked me to make something with the larger 2" hexagons.  I was thinking about something that I could use for my hexagons and I decided to design a pouch to store my small scissors, thread, small pincushion, fabric squares and hexagon templates in. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this pouch turned out and I'm so excited to share it with you.  If you're a Houstonian and taking the English Paper Piecing class on August 31st you will get this pattern for FREE!!  Pattern will be for sale shortly....I just need to write the pattern! :)

New Book

In the mail today I received this book that I won over at Sew Mama Sew!  I never win anything so I was super excited when they emailed me!  Check their website out...there is lots of good stuff over there! Anywho, the book is Joel Dewberry's Sewn Spaces and I thought I'd share some of the cute household projects that are in it!

Cute Farmers Market Tote....I'm definitely making one of these!

Pocket Memo Board....such a neat idea to keep all of your projects organized!

Reversible Fabric Boxes...I can see these in my bathroom already! :)

Bird Sachet...these are just the cutest little birds!

There are many more projects in this book and I can't wait to get started on them!

Plume

This is what I worked on today! That's Tula Pink's Plume matched with a white Moda Grunge fabric with specs of teal and lime green in it!  Oh I can't wait to see what this quilt looks like! Hopefully I will get most of the top sewn tomorrow!

Happy 1st Birthday Jordan!

Today is my nephew Jordan's 1st birthday!! I can't believe he is already one!!  As you know from an earlier post his birthday party is going to be sock monkey themed and I made him and his older brother shirts!  Here are a couple photos taken by their awesome photographer mommy!  If you live in the STL area definitely check her out!

Jordan wasn't too excited to have Xavier hold him!

I decided that since he was having a sock monkey birthday he needed a sock monkey quilt!  I mean, seriously who doesn't?  Here are some photos of the quilt I designed and made for Jordie! I already gave it to him and have a REALLY CUTE video. That's me in the basketball shirt that Jordan is rolling on and Xavier joins in on the fun too! Thanks Rachel!

Happy 1st Birthday Jordan!
We love you very much!
Love,
Uncle Jon and Aunt Jamie
