What the Blog??

After teaching some sewing classes this past weekend and just being in the shop, I got a lot of questions about the whole blog world and world of Flickr.  This past January I did a presentation at the STLMQG meeting on this exact topic, so I thought I'd share it with all of you lovely people!  Here is a LINK to my PowerPoint presentation!  I don't claim to know everything...these are just a few first steps to start a blog and Flickr account!! Hope this helps!  I will also make this PowerPoint a tab on the top of my blog so you can find it easier!

And just because I can't do a post without a photo...here are my nephews at the shop while we were in Houston!!

Dresden Plates

I've had Dresden Plates on my to-do list for a while now and I finally got around to making one today!!  I would just like to say that I LOVE them!  I used a bunch of blue scraps, gray background and turned it into a wall hanging.  I added my own personal touch with a GIANT yo-yo in the center...I think it gave it a little something extra and more fun!  Let me know what you think!

Giant yo-yo = super fun!!

I cannot wait!!  If you're in the Houston area and want to learn how to do cathedral windows, I'm teaching a class on Saturday and there are a couple spots left!  All the info is HERE.  I just made a couple more samples today so I thought I'd share it with you!

This past Saturday was the February meeting for the STLMQG.  As you know from my previous posts, we had a pincushion swap!

Here is a photo of all the lovely pincushions everyone made!

This is the one I got and I love it!! The lovely and talented Mary Claire made it!  Definitely check out her blog, she's awesome!

Playing with scraps

Today I decided to play around with some scraps and I whipped up this little baby!! It's going to be a wall hanging for my sewing room!  I got the top done today and still need to quilt it...but I thought it turned out pretty cute and I wanted to share it with ya'll!

This was before any applique

And after I appliqued a cat on it!!

Close up of the cat...oh yes I used some of my favorite Tula Pink Flutterby fabric!!

Ice Ice Baby!

I don't know if ya'll have been watching the news lately...but just in case you haven't....this is what's going on at my house in Farmington, Missouri!! UGH!  At least we still have power (for now) so I've been able to sew all day since we're stuck inside! :)

Anyone want to swing??  Didn't think so!

Nope, those arn't frosted mini wheats...

This is me after my walking adventure....red cheeks and even my camera is blurry because it's too cold!

All I can say is that I can't wait until the 15th when my sister in law Rachel, her boys and I get to go to Houston!!!  We can't wait to get out of this cold!!
