I usually pick fabric first and then look for patterns to go with it.
I am already a follower!
I always look for patterns to go with the precuts..and i love the new kona colors
I look for clear instructions! Thanks so much!
I look for something simple but cute. I sew for some clothes for my children, so I appreciate something that looks very finished when done. (It doesn't scream, "Mom, made this!")

I look for patterns that lend themselves to different sizes.
I am a follower : )
I look for something that's different, but not too far above my ability level. I also like a crisp, modern photo.
Thanks for the chance!
I'm a new Twitter follower.
I am a follower and those are lovely new colors.
I always look for something simple and fast!
I'm a follower too
When purchase a pattern, it must be a quilt design that "resonates" with me (sounds like a politician doesn't it). It's more emotional than logical. This means that the photos of the quilt cover must be exceptionally good to catch my attention.
It's got to 'speak' to me. Sometimes unexpected fabric jumps out!
I am only a quilter, and I never buy patterns because I really enjoy the creation process of figuring everything out myself. :)
hmm...first I look at price--if it's $9 for a pdf pattern (I have to use my paper, printer, and ink to print it out) then I don't go any farther. Really! (A group of gals just had this conversation) I think that's terrible! After that I look at how versatile (colors) and easy the pattern will be for multiple recipients.

I always look for a pattern that has clear directions.
I need something simple since I'm brand new and pictures would help so much. I do wish that some patterns would have a weblink to video tutorials...that would really help immensely.

Thanks for an awesome giveaway!
I don't buy a lot of patterns, I usually make up my own. But when I have, I really like a lot of pictures or diagrams.
I look for something that I can't do on my own without the instruction. I like a design with a fresh modern look. Thanks for the chance to win!
I look for good directions that are easy to follow. If it's a sewing pattern, I like the pdf's because I can print out the different sizes.
I look for something that is simple!
I love pdfs, instant gratification :)
I look for a simple design with a modern feel. Hope Market was great!!
I look for patterns that have multiple size options and that might teach me something new. :)
Of Course I follow your blog
i follow your blog thanks for the giveaway
i look for blocks i can draw off and make from my drawing
I look for patterns that have clear photographs and designs that intrigue me
I like a colorful picture on the front, and I love to see different sizes available on the pattern. Thanks for the giveaway!
Happy birthday! I already like you on FB.
I like patterns with good pictures of difficult steps.

I am a new follower.
Patterns... I've actually never used one but would like an easy ones with pictures in the instructions! Links to tutorials...
You know, I don't really think of anything in particular. It's usually a matter of seeing something that strikes my fancy. Often I find myself with some terrific fabric & then I try to find a pattern to go with it. But I don't know that there's anything specific I look for... xo
I look for ease of use.
I just have to like the pattern. If it uses precuts all the better! I hate the cutting part so the less cutting the more I like it!
I'm a follower!
I like more modern quilts but nothing that's too intricate. I want to be able to piece the top in one or two sewing sessions. And it has to be available in crib size or smaller--I'm not a fan of quilting anything bigger than that!
I look for a pattern without a ton of matching seams (I love wonky!)
I also like patterns that use precuts.
I look for a pattern that is cute but also simple to do. Something that's not too complicated or "busy" but simple and beautiful!
I am a follower!
I am a facebook fan as well!
I like a pattern that is complex enough that I can't figure it out on my own right away by looking at it, but still isn't crazy complicated when you start it!
I'm a new follower!
I try to find something new, that I can't figure out myself, but not too many tiny pieces!
I love quilt patterns that are made in a standard block style, but interlock so that they don't look like blocks! I have a hard time visualizing how to make those, so those are the patterns I seek out!
Hi there, I became a follower via GFC!
I also followed you on Fb.
I followed on Twitter. Does it count if I'm never on there? ;-)
i love patterns for precuts, especially charm packs. I do lots of charm swaps!
I like patterns with clear instructions and lots of pictures
I agree on pictures - something that clearly shows me what to do is greatly appreciated! Thanks for the chance to win :)
Sad to say, but the price of a pattern is important. Also, I want something unique and modern.
I tend to go for patterns that grab my interest AND are easy to do. There are exceptions to the rule "easy" such as my love affair with snowmen. LOL. :-)
I follow your blog and on twitter (@dlk3265)
I tend to look for something that is a little more modern, I really am liking the look of all the quilts with a lot of sashing lately. Going to have to try one! Thanks!
I am also a follower through Google Reader
I look for something modern - but not something I could easily come up with on my own.
If I am buying a pattern I love lot of pictures or very clear drawings. It can really help clarify a step I might be confused on. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have never bought a pattern! I always just try to figure things out... but there are a few cute things that I need to buy the patterns for! thanks for the giveaway!
Can hardly wait to see the new Kona colours! I love patterns that challenge me to try something new! Thanks for the giveaway.
I don't buy many quilt patterns because part of the joy of quilting, for me, is seeing where a project will go if I let it. The one time I was excited about a pattern I was disappointed to see amateurish drawings and hard to read directions. I would have preferred photographs and a good fclean font to read with some white space to be able to distinguish the different steps.
I ddon't use many patterns but I like clear photos and white space and a crisp font for directions.
happy almost birthday!! i usually look for something that is constructed in an interesting way.
I look for a simple pattern -simple triangles or just blocks or strips, because I am not that experienced.
trilliumcreates AT gmail DOT com
I look for simple patterns that clearly state up front how much fabric is required and it's even better if it states you could use two charm packs and two yards of xxx fat quarters so you can see if you already have enough fabric. I also like to know the finished sized and which pre cut batting and backing material requirements I need. Oh it's also good if one pattern has instructions to size up or down easily. I don't have the capacity to do huge quilts both in terms of basting or quilting. So one quilt that comes in a range of sizes is good.
I look for something simple that I know I can handle!
I already follow on Twitter.
I look for a simple pattern...that I can actually make! =) Thanks for a chance to win.
Happy birthday! I like lots of full-color pictures. I really don't like it when digital patterns are sold for the same price as printed. :)
I am currently looking for something that my daughter (13YRS) & I can work on together. She is becoming more & more interested in sewing so I want to keep her interested. I also like the mother/daughter time it gives us. Thank you, I am also a new follower on facebook & email.

I found your giveaway at The One Stop Giveaway Shop. On patterns, I look for the word "beginner" or "easy." :-)
I Only buy appliqué patterns. I look for patterns that are printed on one side only for easy tracing, patterns that require no enlarging and numbered for easy appliquéing.
Thank you for the chance
If I buy a new pattern it needs to be something that I might make more than once. I also love tons of pics!
That it's easy! (I'm new at this!)
I look mostly at the design of a pattern - I like something with visual movement through the quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi, I look for a pattern that meets the creativity I'm seeking and also matches my skill level. Thanks for the chance to win. Linda
I look for something "different" that I haven't seen before.
I look for something that I can complete without too much fuss - or it will not get done, I'm sad to say! And then I usually look for something that I can sew and give to our grandchildren :) Thanks so much for sharing!
I like patterns that can go with a lot of different fabric styles so that I can use it over and over.
Oooh new colors, yay! I look for something new - like to use patterns to test out new to me skills.
As a new-bee quilter, I'm open to many designs...they're practically all new to me! After making a Jacob's Ladder quilt top, I now lean toward designs that have fewer small pieces in the block.
I'm a new follower!
When buying quilt patterns I look for something original -- not just old blocks with new fabrics. I'm also a sucker for cute baby quilts. I seldom sew clothes any more.
I look for the measurements! When I see a pattern or quilt I like I know I could probably study it and work out how it is done, but who has time! There's also usually a great trick/tip included with the pattern so its a win/win.
When considering buying a new pattern, it's important that the writer follows standard industry conventions -- such as listing block size raw-edge-to-raw-edge. A poorly written pattern gets put back on the rack!
I look for straight sewing lines (no curves or circles please) and efficency when it comes to cutting.
Thanks for hosting a giveaway!
Ease of use and clear illustrations! msagala1 at gmail dot com
I just look for a design that appeals to my style :) I like ones that are unique and unlike anything I have seen before.

I look for a fun design and something easy enough for me to attempt. (I'm still a beginner.) Thanks for doing a giveaway!
I look for a pattern that draws me in with something different - that shows a new way I wouldn't have thought of displaying the fabrics
I am a new follower, thank you!
First I look for something visually striking, then I see if it's a reasonable skill level for me, and finally I look at the price.
I look for patterns that will challege me a bit and help me grow as a quilter.
I look for sizing options, I want to be able to make a baby to a king size quilt without buying the same pattern over and over.
I look for patterns that are visually appealing and will be fun to make
I look for a cute pattern that will also be easy to make.

I follow you here.
I look for something completely original that involves a skill I don't currently have.
And I follow you on Facebook.
I try to buy patterns with varying sizes and no applique.
I look for quilt patterns that can be sewn with just a few fabrics. I have a hard time putting together 10-12 fabrics unless they're from a line. I like fewer fabrics but with visual impact. Thanks for the chance to win!
I look for quilt patterns with alot of pics, I am new at sewing quilts, so I like easy right now! mjalfano19@gmail.com

I am a sucker for swirly lines and bold pattern is both my fabric and patterns.
I look for simple directions that are clearly written. I've had some patterns before that were so frustrating I won't use them again. But, the ones written well and that include lots of diagrams get used again & again!
Thanks for the chance to enter!
In sewing clothes, first it's do I like it, second I look on http://sewing.patternreview.com to read reviews from other people on the pattern, did it look like the picture on the package, are the directions accurate, is the fit true to size, etc etc!
I follow on twitter, thank you for the giveaway!
I don't buy patterns - I like my own head-strong path.
Usually I am drawn to patterns that allow the fabrics to shine! When the quilt is done I want to really be able to enjoy each print used.
I'm a follower now!

Right now...I look for SIMPLICITY when I look for a pattern.
I look for simple instructions, mostly, as I am a novice sewist. Thanks for the giveaway.
The first thing I look for is - Can I actually do this. Does it look more complicated than it actually is. If I can deconstruct it in my head before looking at the pattern, I think I can do it. Sometimes Im wrong!
Kari (dot) stewart (at) me (dot) com
I think I'm normally drawn to the colors that the pattern quilt was made from...if I like them, then I normally like the pattern. I'm not always so great at selecting my own colors and I like good ideas to start from.
I'm not much of a pattern buyer. I think it's fun to figure out quilts myself. I haven't used pre cuts before. but I saw a cute zig zag quilt that looked fun
I normally only buy a pattern if it's unique and interesting. I also always try to buy the pattern, even if its something I can figure out on my own, just to give credit to the pattern maker.
I look for the patterns companies I normally use because they usually have the best directions.
Thanks,
Erin

I just look for something that is visually appealing to me.
I like you on FB.
i really appreciate a well written, detailed pattern with photos or clear illustrations. thanks.
i follow via email, thanks!
I like clearly written instructions that aren't too complicated. Lovely fabric!
First and foremost I look for a design I like. Then I like well written and clear directions. Thanks for the giveaway!
When I look for a new pattern, I am looking something special to make someone, so they pattern usually fits the person that I am making the gift for. I love you and your mom's patterns because you write awesome instructions too.
I look for patterns that I haven't tried yet, that will teach me something new!
I look for interesting patterns, and usually a simple pattern. I don't think I could be so lucky to win twice on your blog, but I do love Kona!!

Simplicity. :) Thanks for the giveaway.
Newest blog follower too! :)
I don't really look for anything special and I don't usually buy patterns unless it really strikes me
Obviously I have to like the pattern, but I also look to see if others like the patterns made by the designer. Good line drawings are good too.
I look for something that I don't think I could figure out on my own.
I like simple patterns with simple instructions, and it's always nice when the pattern is for multiple sizes. Thanks for the chance to win!
I'm a new follower too!
I generally judge based on the picture. If I can relate to the item shown then I tend to like it better.
I look for the finished dimensions AND the fabric requirements on the outside of the pattern. If they aren't included, I move on.
I've never bought a quilt pattern. Most of them are just too easy to figure out by myself, so why would I pay for it? I would definitely buy a pattern if it has some trick to it that isn't immediately obvious, though.
I mostly buy sewing patterns, so I look for shapes that will suit my figure. I also look for pattern companies that are new to me or that I have tried before and I know provide well-drafted patterns and thorough instructions.
I have to love the look of the finished product to look further and see if I want to make it.
I look for quilt patterns that have a definite pattern. No disappearing nine patch or wonky parts sewn every which way. I'm not a fan of extra large borders either. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.
I am a new follower via RSS Feeds.
I like versatility. I look for something that can be tweaked for different looks.
Happy bday! Look for ease of use and color play.
Really just clear directions and lots of pictures!
When I buy fabric I look for something that jumps off the shelf and inspires me! Thanks for the giveaway
I just look at the picture - if it is something I really like, I'll get it. I follow directions well & have never had a problem reading patterns. Great giveaway - thanks for the chance.

Thanks Jaimie for participating in this giveaway, I love Kona solids!
I now follow your blog on Google Reader. Thanks for the 2nd opportunity to win!
Visually it has to "grab" me and must have clear instructions. I look at price now too, I won't pay $9-10 if I have to download and print it! That's crazy!
Thanks for the chance to win, and have a very Happy 27th Birthday !!

When I'm looking for a pattern, I usually look for something with a modern edge. Old-timey quilts just don't appeal to me. Thanks for the giveaway!

I look for something with good lines/shapes that I can't figure out on my own. If I really start trying to figure out the construction, it's probably something I want!
I look for lots of details and pictures. I also like when they give ideas for alternative colorways
I look for patterns with as few triangles as possible. Sometimes the pattern comes first, other times the fabric comes first. Just what strikes me at the moment. Thank you for this giveaway. Glad to hear that you enjoyed Market. Your booth looked great.
Have a super great sewing and stitching day.
I look for very detailed and easy peasy patterns-- I like to be able to have the option to modify it if need to (size, rows, etc.). Thiose kona colors are beautiful
